NEW YORK, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- China has done a remarkable job in fighting against novel coronavirus, according to a senior practitioner of internal medicine from the United States.
The international community shall join hands and pool the top talents and more resources to resolve the problem of novel coronavirus, said Charles King Chan, doctor of medicine, in a recent interview with Xinhua, adding that it's also important to figure out an ideal way to containing the outbreak of novel coronavirus.
Chan noted the disaster caused by novel coronavirus could be turned into opportunity for Chinese health care sector.
China's health care sector would see great investment and advancement in the next ten to 20 years taking into consideration of its capital, resources and political will, said Chan.
No new confirmed cases of novel coronavirus pneumonia were reported Sunday in 24 provincial-level regions of China, according to Chinese local health authorities Monday.
China's daily number of newly cured and discharged novel coronavirus patients has surpassed that of new confirmed infections for the sixth consecutive day.
Chan said he also intends to do public education and prompt scientific understanding of coronavirus in the United States.
Chan also recently developed a prototype of application software aiming to help containing the novel coronavirus outbreak in China and other areas.
Named as Coronavirus Crisis Management (CVCM) Program, the software is designed to help identify new cases, contain cluster-based spread, speed up contact tracking, expedite treatment to rapidly shorten current population quarantine, provide data for research and facilitate public education.
