BEIJING, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- Dongfang Electric Corporation (DEC), a leading power generation equipment supplier in China, announced Thursday that its subsidiary in Chengdu, capital city of southwest China's Sichuan province, has successfully delivered 100 units of commercial hydrogen fuel cell engine systems to power buses in the city.
The 100 hydrogen-fueled buses have been put into operation, with a total mileage of more than 1.2 million kilometers, according to the group.
The successful delivery marks that DEC has become one of the few enterprises in China that can provide hydrogen fuel cell equipment for buses at 100-unit level.
After more than 60 years of development, DEC has grown into one of the world's largest power generation equipment manufacturers and international project contractors, with accumulative output capacity standing at over 550 million kilowatts. The group also attaches importance to the research and development of renewable energy such as hydropower, wind power and solar energy.
DEC has been dedicated to expanding overseas market and participating in the Belt and Road Initiative. It has exported equipment and services to about 80 countries and regions for local projects concerning power generation, power distribution and transmission, railways, environmental protection, traffic and transportation, communication, etc. (Edited by Su Dan)
