BEIJING, Feb. 19(Xinhua) -- Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality on Tuesday started to promote the use of intelligent voice robots across the city to help ensure work resumption amid the epidemic of the novel coronavirus pneumonia.
Developed by integrating resources from Alibaba Cloud and China Mobile among others, the robot can make 3,500 calls per minute to collect information like physical conditions and travel situation on all returning workers as well as other citizens in an accurate and efficient manner.
Besides, it can realize 24-hour uninterrupted monitoring, and accurately trace the source of abnormal data alarms to help handle the epidemic in time.
It can also carry out a 14-day medical follow-up call to key populations like those who were on the same transport as the confirmed cases, automatically reporting their health status to make the late on-site service more targeted.
It is reported that such robots had been successfully applied in Yuzhong Diatrict, Nan'an District and Jiangbei District of Chongqing, with 80-odd percent of the calls made by them being answered, greatly improving the case screening efficiency and reducing risks of being infected through contact for related staff.
