BEIJING, Feb, 18 (Xinhua) -- A freight train loaded with 41 containers departed on Sunday from the city of Zhengzhou, capital of central China's Henan Province, marking the operation resumption of the China-Europe freight trains started from the province after the Lunar New Year holiday, reported Chinanews.com Monday.
The train loaded with 615.8 tonnes of cargoes, including mechanical and electrical equipment, metal products, precision components, and daily necessities, headed for Tashkent, capital of Uzbekistan.
It is noted that the train operator, Zhengzhou International Hub Development and Construction Co., Ltd. (ZIH), has been taking measures to resume the regular operation of the freight trains while preventing and controlling the novel coronavirus pneumonia (COVID-19) outbreak.
By far, the Zhengzhou to Europe freight trains have connected Henan with 130 cities in 30 countries. As of 2019, a total of 1000 outbound and inbound trains were operated, with an annual cumulative cargo value worth about 3.354 billion U.S. dollars, data from ZIH showed. (Edited by Jiang Feifan)
