BEIJING, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- Northwest China's Gansu Province saw its trade with the countries along the Belt and Road routes stand at 20.09 billion yuan (about 2.88 billion U.S. dollars) in 2019, up 2.8 percent year on year, according to the local customs.
The province's foreign trade in 2019 stood at 37.99 billion yuan. In December, the total import and export value of the province was 3.6 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 28.3 percent, said Lanzhou Customs District.
Its trade with Latin America, Oceania and the ASEAN in 2019 amounted to 2.98 billion yuan, 2.78 billion yuan and 4.4 billion yuan, up 67.4 percent, 37.3 percent and 47.2 percent year on year, respectively.
The province saw an optimized trade structure in the export and import products last year, said the local customs.
From the perspective of exports, the exports of agricultural products, labor-intensive products, and cultural products in Gansu Province in 2019 amounted to 2.12 billion yuan, 840 million yuan, and 250 million yuan, up 5.5 percent, 190 percent and 130 percent year on year, respectively.
In terms of imports, the province last year imported 11.51 billion yuan worth of copper ore and concentrates, up 18.6 percent year on year, and 2.87 billion yuan worth of nickel ore and concentrates, up 30.8 percent year on year. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
