FRANKFURT, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- A week-long event series brought by artists from northwest China's Shaanxi Province kicked off in Frankfurt on Wednesday ahead of the Chinese Lunar New Year, or Spring Festival.
Under the title "The Shine of Shaanxi", the cultural week is part of the "Happy Chinese New Year" cultural event taking place across the world.
The Chinese performers and artists will tour in Frankfurt, Mannheim, Karlsruhe and Bingen in the following days to present a gala of singing, dancing and acrobatics in each city.
Along with the gala, inheritors of intangible cultural heritage from the province will set up workshops on site to showcase traditional folk arts such as papercutting, shadow play, woodblock printing and embroidery.
Shaanxi Province is well-known for its rich history and culture. The provincial capital Xi'an is one of the most visited Chinese cities by foreign tourists. Enditem
