BEIJING, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- The number of business incubators in Beijing has reached over 500, benefiting 23,000 firms, as the capital continues to see a red-hot startup scene, according to a report released by the Beijing Business Incubation Association Saturday.
Data in the report shows that nearly one-quarter of Beijing-based incubators started their business across the country and 18 branches have been set up by 14 incubators in countries such as the United States and Germany.
High-tech enterprises have received more interest and investment in the city's burgeoning incubator scene since the Beijing Hi-tech Business Innovation Service Center, Beijing's first incubator, was established in March 1989, said the report.
Beijing will continue to support high-tech startups and plans to create incubators with global influence by 2025, said Xu Qiang, director of the Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission.
