KUWAIT CITY, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) -- Relations between China and Kuwait is at the best level in history, Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait Li Minggang said in Kuwait City on Tuesday.
China will continue opening up its market to share development opportunities and dividents with the Gulf countries including Kuwait, he said at a symposium on China-Kuwait relations, attended by a dozen local media outlets.
Li said that during the visit of Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to China last year, China and Kuwait agreed to establish strategic partnership to inject new impetus into the bilateral ties.
China and Kuwait have made remarkable progress in the political, economic, trade and cultural fields, he said.
The ambassador noted that the volume of bilateral trade hit 12.7 billion U.S. dollars from January to September this year, and Kuwait has become China's fifth largest trade partner and fourth largest crude oil exporter among the Arab countries.
For his part, Saad Ali Mohammad, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) Deputy Director-General for the Editorial Sector, said China has made great achievements through mutually beneficial cooperation with the world.
He looks forward to more cooperation between media organizations of the two countries.
