ICE to provide free services to companies with up to 100 employees

December 23, 2019

Abstract : From April in next year, companies with less than 100 employees will be able to count on a greater number of free services provided by ICE.

MILAN, Dec. 23 (Class Editori) – From April in next year, companies with less than 100 employees will be able to count on a greater number of free services provided by ICE. The agency's Board of Directors has reviewed the catalog of services provided with the aim of increasing the number of exporting companies.

"Together with the recent creation of weekly desks in each region, the decision to extend the free services for medium-small, small and micro companies is a great revolution that puts companies at the center and affirms the role of service in the territory of the ICE among the actors of the promotion of the Country System", explained the president of ICE, Carlo Ferrero.

A total of twenty services will be offered free of charge for all companies, while for companies with up to 100 employees, those essential for starting exports in a new country. The new catalog, the agency explains, offers services to businesses to learn about new markets in terms of opportunities, dynamics and potential foreign counterparts, and to grow, start and support the presence and consolidation in foreign markets.

Therefore, companies with up to 100 employees can contact the ICE offices in Italy and abroad, without paying any fees, to obtain services and general information and orientation, market research, personalized statistics, customs information, tax legal and foreign currency, assistance in the resolution of disputes or for participation in international tenders, but also to request research services for clients, partners or foreign investors; they will also be able to use the ICE facilities in Italy and abroad free of charge for a maximum predetermined period.

The new ICE catalog, which will also be accessible from the ice.it website, on the basis of the current review intends to offer a systematization of services to simplify the offer and make it easier for small businesses to access.

The news comes when there are signs of lightening for international trade on the horizon. 2020 will mark a recovery in world trade after a year marked by the dispute over duties between the United States and China. Next year, global trade, according to the forecasts of the ICE-Prometeia report on the evolution of foreign trade, will register an acceleration of 2.4%, which will rise to 3% the following year. However, for Italy success is not strictly linked to absolute variations in world trade but to the ability to intercept markets that are congenial to their productions. Above all the Chinese one. In the last five years, Made in Italy has gained share in the fashion system and in the home sector. Further opportunities are linked to forms of collaboration with the People's Republic in third countries.

However "only 126,000 Italian companies out of 4 million are habitual exporters and only 12% of national exports come from the South", pointed out the president of ICE Carlo Ferro. "The first export market outside Europe for our companies is the US one and on it some questions are coming not only because of the duties but also of an industrial and commercial policy characterized by protectionism".
