SHENZHEN, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- A direct flight service was launched Sunday between the southern Chinese tech hub Shenzhen and the resort island of Jeju in the Republic of Korea (ROK) to meet the increasing travel demand of tourists.
The first flight took off at 2:42 p.m. (Beijing time) on Sunday from Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport and landed at Jeju International Airport around three hours and 10 minutes later.
The flight will be operated by Shenzhen Airlines on a Boeing 737 every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
A spokesperson from Shenzhen Airlines said the direct air route will provide convenience for tourists from the Pearl River Delta and surrounding areas to the ROK, one of the most popular outbound destinations for Chinese.
