BEIJING, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- China's centrally administered state-owned enterprises(SOES) have set up more than 11,000 units overseas with assets totaling 7.98 trillion yuan, according to the Chinese Enterprise Global Image Summit 2019 held recently.
These overseas units have undertaken 3,428 major projects in the Belt and Road related countries, covering infrastructure construction, energy development, capacity cooperation and many other areas.
Besides, they helped to promote local economy and people's livelihood. These overseas units have provided job opportunities to local people and up to 85 percent of the employees are hired locally. So far, they have realized operating revenue of 5.7 trillion yuan, becoming a carrier of China's economy, diplomacy and culture when going global.
For example, the gas-fired power plant undertaken by Power Construction Corporation of China(POWERCHINA) is Burma's largest gas power project, which benefits over 2.7 million local residents. A subfluvial tunnel constructed by China Communications Construction will be a significant part of the Bangladesh China India Myanmar Economic Corridor(BCIM).
China will cultivate world-class enterprises with strong international competitiveness and help Chinese enterprises go global, said Weng Jieming, deputy head of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission.(Edited by Wang Meijian, Yang Qi)
