MILAN, Nov. 19 (Class Editori) -- 15 years have passed since Triumph Group International (TGI) landed in China, specifically in Shanghai. "On the occasion of my first trip to China," says Maria Criscuolo, chairwoman of TGI, which deals with communication and event organization, "I was very surprised by the dynamism of the event management sector. Above all, I was surprised by the absence of Italian companies in a context in which the presence of international companies was already so consolidated". Triumph has immediately seen the opportunities of this huge unexplored market for Italy.
Triumph Asia, based in Shanghai and with a more recent headquarters also in Hong Kong, was inaugurated in a particularly significant year for relations with China. In fact, in 2004 the Chinese government decided to facilitate the opening of companies in the event organization sector, removing the obligation for foreign companies to set up a joint venture with local partners.
Triumph Asia expanded quickly, becoming the reference operating base for all Greater China with more than 30 employees. The company has organized many leading events in China so far, especially in the fashion, design and in the medical-scientific sectors, which have always been TGI's flagships. Among the most significant events that Triumph Asia has helped to organize stands out Expo Shanghai 2010, where TGI was qualified as a recommeded supplier among the only three international event organizers called to operate during the universal exhibition. Triumph Asia has been supporting the Salone del Mobile in Shanghai, since its landing in the People's Republic of China.
The group's history began in 1986 in Rome and quickly gained an international reach, inaugurating its first headquarters in Brussels in 2002, in the nerve center of Europe. Today, Triumph Group International, with a solid structure, has become an international point of reference in the organization of events, addressing a varied target group of customers and making innovation its strong point.
Over the years, the group has collaborated and organized events of renowned standing and worldwide importance, from the G8 in Genoa in 2001 to the 24th World Congress of Dermatology which was held last June in Milan, animating the city with more than 20 thousand people from all around the world. This event also saw the collaboration of part of the Shanghai office to better support visitors from Asian countries. Triumph Group International is currently investing more and more to strengthen its internationalization process to reach new unexplored markets.
In the Chinese context Triumph Group International is open to establish a joint venture with a local partner to gain an even more structured presence in the country. According to Maria Criscuolo, "China represents a market with a great growth potential for our reality, since Chinese customers are looking for companies with international experience". Triumph Group International is currently the only Italian company in its sector in China.
