"China represents one of the main markets of our internationalization process. In the past years, thanks to the partnership undertaken with the important local operators, Composad products have enjoyed considerable success on the Eastern market, fully capturing the needs of the public, ever more attentive to values of eco-sustainability and quality at the right price."
Nicola Negri, general manager of Saviola Holding and Composad, which earns around 80 million euros with 250 employees, is optimistic about the development of activity on the markets of the Far East. Nicola Negri went along with the group's president Alessandro Saviola to the Furniture Shanghai 2019, one of the main international fairs in the furniture and furnishing sector, now in its 25th edition. The Furniture Shanghai 2019 has registered over 21,000 presences from 132 countries.
Composad is one of the four divisions of the Viadana group (Mantua), which is located along the Mantuan shore of the Po, a leader in international markets in the kit furniture segment.
The group's production process is based, in fact, on the recovery of civil waste wood and its transformation, according to a patented process, into flat presser boards that feed the production of furniture. The group became the European leader in the circular economy field thanks to the leadership of Alessandro Saviola, who took over the management at a very young age after the sudden death of his father Mauro in 2009.
Mauro Saviola, the founder of the company, in the early 90s as a true pioneer had sensed the potential of wood recycling and integration with clean chemistry to get to the finished material.
With the LEB (Lowest Emission Board) panel, Saviola created the first 100% recycled panel with emissions close to virgin timber. Thanks to the embossed-in register it has faithfully reproduced the characteristics of wood, both its visual and tactile effect, representing the best eco-sustainable solution in the world.
"We have a unique supply chain and our products - entirely made through the circular economy process - are increasingly competitive in the international context because they meet the criteria of sustainability and protection of the ecosystem and biodiversity, thanks to the preservation of our forest heritage and are giving positive results," underlined Alessandro Saviola, "we have been participating in Furniture Shanghai for five years because our group looks to the foreign market with growing interest."
The Saviola group had sales of over 600 million euros in 2018, with over 1,400 employees in the 13 production sites in Italy and the world, with a net profit of 31 million euros (+ 47%).
Composad increasingly confirms its international vocation, the export quota has reached 88% of global turnover. The goal in the short to medium term is to further grow abroad, consolidating its presence in markets already open and, at the same time, entering new ones.
The Mauro Saviola Group is composed of four Business Units (Saviola, Sadepan, Composad and Saviolife). Founded in 2000, Composad bases its activity on the values of professionalism and competence, innovation and environmental protection, the passion for wood and the use of the most modern industrial technologies, the result of synergy with the other companies that include the group. The brand, 100% Made in Italy, today is one of the most well-established companies in the international scenario of kit furniture and do-it-yourself furniture production.
