SHANGHAI, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- Ten China's local liquor enterprises, such as Kweichow Moutai, Wuliangye, Yanghe and Luzhoulaojiao, have been elected as the top ten in the industry at the 14th China International Alcoholic Drinks Expo held in Shanghai on Friday.
With China's boosting economic development, the country's liquor industry sees a brighter future with market size of trillions of yuan.
As the world's most massive liquor production and consumption country, China has realized a total of 39.9 million kiloliters of liquor in the first eight months of 2019, up 0.23 percent year on year, according to Wang Yancai, President of China Alcoholic Drinks Association.
Wang added that the accumulated sales revenue of liquor surged 8.06 percent to 548.7 billion yuan during the same period, with an increased profit of 18.7 percent to 104.5 billion yuan.
China's liquor industry has an edge in terms of traditional culture, brand profile, and brewing technique, which is beneficial to further development in an international market, said an expert from China Alcoholic Drinks Association.
"We will strive to protect the ecology of the origin of high-quality liquor, build a more complete ecological and environmental protection system, and protect the natural place where high-quality liquor is brewed", said Ju Li, Deputy Party Secretary of Luzhou City.
