SHANGHAI, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) – The 14th International Alcoholic Drinks Expo kicked off in Shanghai on Friday, aiming to boost exchanges among different liquor cultures from all over the world.

The expo attracts worldwide industry-leading liquor producers and end consumers, said Wang Yancai, president of the event organizer China Alcoholic Drinks Association (CADA) at the opening of the expo, adding that the expo has worked as a bridge of friendship between world famous liquor companies and liquor lovers.

"Luzhou city is paying great attention to the expo, as it will deepen industry cooperation and help boost the quality development of the liquor industry," according to Ju Li, Deputy Party Secretary of Luzhou.

Luzhou, located in southwest China's Sichuan Province, is famous for its liquor producing in China. It will host the next liquor expo in March 2020.
World famous liquor companies are gathering in this expo, making it the carnival of world liquor industry, said Wang Hao, Deputy Party Secretary and Mayor of Suqian, capital of Chinese liquor. In east China's Jiangsu Province, Suqian is scheduled to hold an international liquor festival in April next year.

The three-day event, first held in 2006, attracted more than 3,000 liquor companies, with products ranging from Chinese liquor, wine, beer, brandy, to whisky. (Contributed by Li Anran, edited by Jiang Yujuan, jiangyj@xinhua.org, Jiang Feifan)
