BEIJING, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- 12 western Chinese regions on Sunday inked an agreement in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality with Hainan Province and Zhanjiang City of Guangdong Province in south China to jointly build a new land-sea corridor in western China, reported www.cnr.cn on Monday.
The 12 regions in western China are Chongqing Municipality, provinces of Guizhou, Gansu, Qinghai, Yunnan, Shaanxi and Sichuan, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Tibet Autonomous Region.
The move aims at strengthening inter-provincial consultation and cooperation to deepen the land-sea two-way opening-up and create a new pattern in the development of the western region.
According to the agreement, related cooperation will focus on fields like enhancing construction of related comprehensive operation platform, transport channels and logistics facilities, lifting channel operation and logistics efficiency, fostering integrated channel and regional economic development, and improving related supportive policies, etc.
It is learned that a memorandum on customs cooperation and a China Construction Bank financial service agreement were also sealed at the scene, so as to provide related customs and financial support for the construction of the new land-sea corridor. (Edited by Gu Shanshan)
