Huawei launches Northern Africa Innovation Day in Tunisia

Abstract : China's Huawei launched a forum of Northern Africa Innovation Day co-organized with the Tunisian government on Monday in Tunis.

TUNIS, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- China's Huawei launched a forum of Northern Africa Innovation Day co-organized with the Tunisian government on Monday in Tunis.

The event was attended by more than 300 Arab and African officials and specialists.

Vice President of Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd, Xue Man, opened the forum with a speech that stressed the building of an effective technology system in Tunisia, the Arab region and Africa by working to strengthen the infrastructure.

He stressed the Huawei's readiness to "provide all necessary assistance to achieve this goal."

Speaking at the forum, Tunisian Minister of Communication Technologies and Digital Economy, Mohamed Anouar Maarouf, reviewed the prospects of digital transformation in Tunisia, praising cooperation between Tunisia and Huawei.

He described this cooperation as "fruitful and beneficial to Tunisia," hailing Huawei's efforts in supporting the "Digital Tunisia 2020 Project."

The forum, attended by a large number of Tunisian, Arab and African officials and many experts in communication and technological innovation, is organized within the framework of celebrations marking Huawei's 20th anniversary of entering the Tunisian market.

Imad Ben Halima, assistant general manager of Huawei Tunisia, told reporters since it first entered Tunisia in 1999, Huawei has contributed significantly and effectively to the development of the telecommunications field in Tunisia.
