BEIJING, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- A salon on economic and trade cooperation co-organized by Zhejiang Federation of Industry and Commerce and NEXT Federation was recently held in Auckland, New Zealand, to discuss investment cooperation and technical exchanges between East China's Zhejiang province and New Zealand.
Zhejiang, a province with strong economic growth in China, generated 2.83 trillion yuan of gross domestic product (GDP) from January to June this year, up 7.1 percent year on year and ranking the fourth among all the province-level regions nationwide, and its exports during this period accounted for 13.2 percent of China's total, said Zhang Bilai, Vice Chairman of Zhejiang Federation of Industry and Commerce in the salon.
The province is committed to facilitating people's livelihood facilitation, scientific and technological innovation, environment improvement and other related fields, so as to forge a better Zhejiang, noted Zhang.
Yang Jian, Chairman of Advisory Committee of NEXT Federation, pointed out that New Zealand, with a sound investment and business environment, is very interested in attracting foreign investment in the coming years to improve the speed and level of its infrastructure construction.

Zhejiang Federation of Industry and Commerce and NEXT Federation signed a cooperation agreement in the salon.
According to the agreement, the two sides will continue to strengthen economic and trade cooperation, share economic and trade information, exchange visits and promote investment cooperation projects to each other, in a bid to jointly bring more assistance and convenience to enterprises.
The salon helped promote the communication between enterprises from Zhejiang and New Zealand, laying a sound foundation for further cooperation, said Peter Goodfellow, President of Global Presidium of NEXT Federation and President of the New Zealand National Party, when meeting the Chinese delegation after the salon.
