CHENGDU, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- A total of 489 projects with an investment of 616.6 billion yuan (87.18 billion U.S. dollars) were inked at an ongoing import and export expo in southwest China's Sichuan Province Friday.
Among the 489 projects signed at the Western China International Fair Import and Export Expo, 454 were projects with domestic investment totaling 554.9 billion yuan and the other 35 projects with foreign investment of 61.74 billion yuan.
The investment mainly goes to the industries of electronic information, equipment manufacturing, food and beverage, advanced material, energy and chemical and digital economy.
The fair, themed on opening up, innovation and cooperation, opened Friday and will last for four days. Government delegations from 55 countries and regions and merchants from over 800 enterprises are taking part.
