InfoQuest (September 19, 2019) -- Thailand Post is committed to developing services that can meet the changing needs of consumers, especially as e-commerce is expanding, customers want to deliver parcels to destinations as soon as possible, said Ms. Smorn Terdthumpiboon, president of Thailand Post. To meet this need, Thailand Post has improved the Express Mail Service (EMS), enabling a faster delivery service to guarantee parcels will arrive within hours, which was widely favored by consumers.
For parcels mailed from Bangkok and its surrounding areas (Information can be verified in branches of Thailand Post), if mailed between 10:30 and 11:00, they will arrive at destinations no later than 18:00 of the same day. And if mailed before 17:00, they will arrive at destinations in other regions of the country the next day. If parcels mailed from local regions across the country to Bangkok and its surrounding areas, they will arrive at destinations the next day.
Apart from enhancing the speed of delivery, Thailand Post has also extended the service hours of branches including Samsen Nai, Chorakhe Bua and Nonthaburi until 23:00. Meanwhile, it also provides "24x365" service in the Street Ratchada, the Suvarnabhumi Airport branch, and the Lak Si EMS, to better serve e-commerce operators.
There are more than 10,000 post offices across the country, and more than 8 million parcels mailed through the postal system every day. Thailand Post will keep developing services that cater for all customers, especially the rapidly growing e-commerce customers.
In addition to facilitating services, Thailand Post has recently launched new activities aimed at Thai e-commerce operators, for example, a minimum discount of 30 percent off shipping costs from September 19 to October 31, 2019 will be offered when customers choose cash on delivery (COD) and Wallet @ Post payment. Moreover, during this period, the service charge will be adjusted. The charge varies from 55 baht (parcels weighing 500g-2kg), 80 baht (parcels weighing 2-7kg) to 100 baht (parcels weighing 7-10kg).
