BEIJING, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- Themed Bamboo Connects the World, the 2019 International Bamboo Industry Fair will be held in Meishan city, southwest China's Sichuan Province from September 26 to 28, according to a press conference held on Tuesday.

Co-hosted by the International Bamboo and Rattan Organisation (INBAR), Meishan Municipal People's Government as well as several Chinese government departments and organizations, this year's festival has a wide range of participants and rich bamboo cultural exchanges, with 313 domestic exhibitors and 30 international exhibitors from Australia, Japan, Thailand, India, Madagascar and Ecuador.
Besides, the exhibition will present latest various bamboo products, as well as bamboo industry research results.
A series of events including bamboo industry investment project signing ceremony, China bamboo industry high-end forum, international bamboo product creative design competition and bamboo culture tour will be launched during the fair.
As a key region of bamboo resources in China, Meishan boasts 1,080,000 hectares of bamboo forests. In recent years, Meishan City has vigorously developed the bamboo weaving industry, many of its weaving products are exported to over 50 countries and regions in Europe, the United States, Korea and Japan.

Relying on superior bamboo resources, Meishan has set a target to have its bamboo industry realize a comprehensive output value of 10 billion yuan by 2022, said Sun Jian, deputy mayor of Meishan.
