BEIJING, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- Chinese artificial intelligence (AI) giant Baidu has announced 1.443 billion yuan (about 203 million U.S. dollars) of strategic investment in domestic technology investment firm Neusoft Holdings.
It marked the official establishment of strategic partnership between the two sides, which will work together to promote AI applications in smart cities, smart education and smart medical care, Baidu said in a statement Tuesday.
The strategic investment came after Baidu invested in Neusoft Medical Systems and signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Neusoft Corporation earlier this year to partner in smart cities, medical care and health.
Baidu has stepped up investment in AI development and applications in sectors ranging from automobile to education in recent years as it strongly believes in an AI-empowered future. Enditem
