InfoQuest, (Sept. 9, 2019) -- As the NIDA Poll shows that a majority of people think the government is incapable of fixing the economy, Thai Finance Minister Uttam Sawangnoon said the new government has been in office for just over a month, however, it takes time to address the economic issues. Over a past period of time, the government has been fully aware of the global economic situation and made great efforts to respond to it.
"It takes time to fix the economic problems, but the new government has been in power for just over a month and also did its best. Thailand's economy is not as bad as the poll suggests yet, but we are open to all views", said the finance minister.
Mr. Uttam also noted that he has confidence that the government will keep solving the problems so that the Thai economy can achieve sustainable development.
Meanwhile, he pointed out if the current measures fail to bolster Thailand's economic growth, the government will mull additional stimulus package.
However, the finance minister declined to answer the reporter's question about whether the country's economy could grow 3 percent this year.
