NANNING, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) – The China-ASEAN financial information service platform was officially launched Monday during China-ASEAN Information Harbor Partners Signing Ceremony held in Nanning, capital of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
As one of the major projects under the plan of the construction of China-ASEAN Information Harbor, the online financial information service platform will help Guangxi to build a financial gateway open to the ASEAN countries, and improve the efficiency of the dissemination and application of economic information within the China-ASEAN regions, said Fan Shixiang, director of the local financial supervision bureau of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
The State Council of China approved an overall plan of Guangxi on construction of the financial gateway open to the ASEAN countries last December, granting Guangxi a unique strategic position in the financial opening-up.
Guangxi has been promoting financial opening-up and cross-border financial cooperation in the past five years, making its transnational RMB settlement amount steadily rank top among 12 western provinces and nine border provinces in China.
The China-ASEAN financial information service platform is jointly built by Xinhua-run China Economic Information Service Co., Ltd. (CEIS), Guangxi's Local Financial Supervision Bureau, Big Data Development Bureau, and Nanning Municipal Government. Xinhua Finance, a national-level financial information platform operated by CEIS will feed the platform with its resources.
Focusing on economic and trade exchange between China and ASEAN, the platform is dedicated to providing professional information services such as information, data, and market quotations, for both Chinese enterprises which plan to go global, and ASEAN enterprises which want to invest in China.
