BEIJING, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- The Guangxi Investment Group Digital Economy Demonstration Base and the China-ASEAN (Huawei) Artificial Intelligence Innovation Center were recently inaugurated in Nanning, capital of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
Jointly established by Digital Guangxi Group and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., the China-ASEAN (Huawei) Artificial Intelligence Innovation Center is one of the important industrial platforms that settles in the Guangxi Investment Group Digital Economy Demonstration Base.
Digital Guangxi Group and Huawei will engage in deep cooperation in the artificial intelligence (AI) field through the innovation center, so as to contribute to the fast development of Guangxi's AI industry, which will strongly drive the intelligent industrial transformation and upgrading of Guangxi and pushing for the high-quality development of digital economy in Guangxi and even ASEAN countries, said Xi Yang, deputy secretary general of the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and director of the Guangxi Big Data Development Bureau of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
As Huawei's first implemented AI cooperation project nationwide, the innovation center will surely become Huawei's best example and benchmark in the AI field with the resource support from the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Digital Guangxi Group and Huawei, noted Yang Ruikai, vice president with Huawei.
Currently, 27 enterprises have settled in the Guangxi Investment Group Digital Economy Demonstration Base, and a raft of Internet giants in China like Alibaba, Inspur Group and Qi An Xin Group also started to settle in the base, noted Liu Hong, vice general manager of Guangxi Investment Group and chairman of Digital Guangxi Group.
According to him, eco-partners of these Internet giants and the China-ASEAN Network Security Exchange and Training Center planned by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to be unveiled in September will also settle in the base.
By taking the successful establishment of the China-ASEAN (Huawei) Artificial Intelligence Innovation Center in the Guangxi Investment Group Digital Economy Demonstration Base, Digital Guangxi Group and Huawei are working to foster the application of AI technology.
For instance, the two firms have already launched pilot application in Alnan Aluminum Co., Ltd., Guangxi Nanning East Asia Sugar Group and other enterprises, and kicked off a host of benchmarking demonstration projects, such as intelligent detection of aluminum surface quality and intelligent identification of sugar cane impurity content image, yielding desirable results in the first step of promoting AI application.
