BEIJING, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- The China-Europe freight trains dubbed Yixin'ou in Chinese (Yiwu-Xinjiang-Europe) has opened ten routes since launched in November of 2014, covering 35 countries in the world, and transported 63,000 TEUs of goods in total, said local authorities of East China's Zhejiang province at a press conference held on Monday.
Data provided by Yiwu Customs show that, in the first half of this year, the total trade value of goods shipped by Yixin'ou freight trains was 4.51 billion yuan, up 8.0 percent year on year, of which the import value was 980 million yuan, up 39.1 percent year on year, and the trade volume reached 113 thousand tonnes, up 6.8 percent.
From January to July in 2019, the freight trains have made 157 one-way trips, out of a total of 780 trips since its opening.
The Yixin'ou freight train has opened operations in Spain, Czech, the UK, Latvia, Russia, Belarus, Iran, Afghanistan, and has added stations to stop by in important cities along the routes such as Malaszewicze and Warsaw in Poland, and Duisburg in Germany. Four branches and five logistics distribution centers have been set up along the routes to radiate 37 countries and regions in Eurasia, basically achieving the full coverage of major trading countries and regions along the Belt and Road.
In recent years, with the normalization of the train's operation, the structure of import and export goods has gradually changed, and higher-value-added products such as auto parts, engines, large medical equipment, and high-end manufacturing equipment have appeared on the shipping list.
Thanks to the Yixin’ou train, more and more "Made in China" have gone global, strengthening the recognition of Chinese brands in European countries, and facilitating the deep integration of the Chinese and European market. (Edited by Li Wenxin, liwenxin@xinhua.org)
