China’s household appliance sector reports steady growth in H1

Abstract : China’s home appliance sector posted steady growth in the first half of this year, according to a report released by the China Center for Information Industry Development under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

BEIJING, July 30 (Xinhua) – China’s home appliance sector posted steady growth in the first half of this year, according to a report released by the China Center for Information Industry Development under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

According to the report, China’s retail sales of household appliances totaled 429.7 billion yuan in the January-June period.

The report showed that online sales accounted for more than 40 percent of the country’s home appliance market during the period.

As consumption upgrading in the country’s household appliance sector is accelerating, sales of new-type home appliances, such as robots and dust mite controllers, saw explosive growth.
