Germany's electrical industry made gains in May despite slowing economic growth and international trade conflicts, industry association ZVEI said on Tuesday.
The industry registered exports worth 17.1 billion euros (19.11 billion dollars) in May, up 5.1 per cent on the previous month, ZVEI said, adding that it was the highest figure for any month of May ever recorded.
In the first five months of the year, exports for the electrical industry stood at 89.2 billion euros, 5.3 per cent up on the same period in 2018.
"So far, exports do not seem to have been affected by international trade conflicts or slowing global growth," ZVEI trade expert JuergenPolzin said.
