BEIJING, July 15 (Xinhua) -- China's economy is generally developing healthily, the country's national political advisors said Monday.
The main economic indicators are within an appropriate range, with positive factors driving the country's high-quality economic growth gaining ground, members from the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee pointed out at a symposium on China's economic development in the second quarter of this year.
It also should be noted that the economy still faced some difficulties and challenges, they said.
In the second quarter, the Chinese economy rose 6.2 percent from one year earlier, a retreat from 6.4 percent in the first quarter, official data showed Monday.
The country's GDP logged 6.3-percent growth in the first six months of this year, in line with the government's annual target of 6-6.5 percent.
