Italy to participate in 2nd CIIE as guest country of honor

July 12, 2019

Abstract : Italy will attend the Second China International Import Expo (CIIE) as a guest country of honor, and the products "Made in Italy" are expected to draw extensive attentions

BEIJING, July 12 (Xinhua) -- Italy will attend the Second China International Import Expo (CIIE) as a guest country of honor, and the products "Made in Italy" are expected to draw extensive attentions, said Carlo Ferro, president of Italian Trade Agency (ITA), on Wednesday in an interview during his visit to China.

This year, Italy will launch its national pavilion at the Expo, and give full display to the quality of products involved in "Italian System" and "Made in Italy" brought by Italian enterprises, introduced by Carlo Ferro.

Italy hopes its presence at the Expo this year may help Chinese industrial associations and consumers to gain better understanding about the advantages of "Made in Italy" and the quality of Italian products, so as to further expand Italy's exports to China and promote the economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, Carlo Ferro added.

During the First China International Import Expo, Italy was the second largest exhibitor from Europe, with an exhibition area of about 5,300 square meters and over 180 enterprise attendees.

The Second China International Import Expo will be held in November in Shanghai. (Edited by Tong Wei, tongwei@xinhua.org)
