NDOLA Zambia, June 27 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese firm has been commended for the progress made on the construction of a dam in Zambia's Masaiti district on the Copperbelt Province.
Christine Chande, district chairperson said the council was happy with the works by China National Complete Engineering so far on the construction of the Kafulafuta dam, which are progressing well.
"As a council we are happy with the progress being done by a Chinese company in building the water irrigation and supply system facility," she said.
Chande said the dam once completed will bring about enhanced agriculture activities in the district and Copperbelt as a whole.
Kafulafuta dam, which was commissioned in October in 2017, is expected to cost 450 million U.S. dollars.
