BEIJING, June 13 (Xinhua) -- China's 4G electromagnetic radiation of communication base stations is limited to 40 microwatt per square centimeter, which is more than10 times stricter than that in U. S., said Chinese Academy of Engineering academician Wu Hequan, responding to the 5G radiation problem.
By expanding the transmission bandwidth, 5G has faster network speed than 4G. The same with 4G base station, 5G base station has a radiation standard of less than 40 microwatts per square centimeter. Moreover, the denser the communication base station coverage, the better mobile phone signal reception, and the less electromagnetic radiation users will receive. Therefore, with the continuous construction of 4G and 5G networks, there will be more communication base stations with better signals and less radiation, explained expert.
Compared with these common household appliances, the amount of radiation in the cell base station is quite small due to its wide station antenna radiation coverage area and far distance from the human body, said Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China.
