BEIJING, May 17 (Xinhua) -- Lianyungang, a pivot Belt and Road city in east China's Jiangsu Province, promoted its business environment and looked for cooperation opportunities in Kazakhstan in the fields of production capacity, investment, agriculture, logistics and e-commerce, and signed investment agreements for several projects during the Second China-Kazakhstan Regional Cooperation Forum held by China's Ministry of Commerce and Kazakhstan's Ministry of National Economy.
Fang Wei, Mayor of Lianyungang, delivered a keynote speech on the sub-forum of logistics and e-commerce themed on co-building the expressway for land and sea coordinated transport between Asia and Europe and sharing the new international cooperation opportunities brought by land bridge. The Mayor meanwhile introduced the economic, trade and investment environment of Lianyungang.

According to him, the local cooperation between Lianyungang and Kazakhstan's counterparts is highly complementary, especially in logistics. At present, Lianyungang is promoting the construction of China-Kazakhstan Logistics Cooperation Base and the seamless connection among deep-water ports, ocean mainlines, China-Europe freight trains and logistics terminals.
The SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) International Logistics Park in Lianyungang, with a designed area of 45 square kilometers, provides logistics service for central Asia and the Pacific Rim. ACE Group, a trade and logistics service provider headquartered in Lianyungang, will invest for building a supply chain base in Aktau of Kazakhstan and form a logistics service chain among Lianyungang, Horgos and Aktau, Fang added.
From May 14 to 22, Lianyungang's government departments and enterprises including Port of Lianyungang, Lianyungang Industrial Investment Group and Lianyungang Agricultural Development Group paid visits to Kazakhstan and Georgia and conducted economic and trade investment promotion activities.
