TALLINN, May 8 (Xinhua) -- China and Estonia have great potential to develop bilateral cooperation in the fields such as industry and commerce and business service, said experts and officials from both sides on Wednesday.
Receiving a visiting delegation from Yixing of Jiangsu province in eastern China, Mait Palts, director general of the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said, "The bilateral relations between Estonia and China are moving toward higher levels in both political and economic sectors," expecting more cooperation in the future, including in the field of the Estonian Smart City Cluster designed to support the development of smart city solutions in order to improve the life quality in the cities, and also accelerate the export of enterprises.
Kalev Kallo, chairman of Estonia-China parliamentary Group and former chairman of the City Council of Tallinn, stressed the high-level meetings between the leaders of the two countries in 2018 and this year, wishing more opportunities for the cooperative business of both countries.
Shen Jian, group leader of the Yixing delegation, said that he was highly impressed by the development of Estonia, a member of both the EU and the Schengen Area, and its capital of Tallinn, noting that there is a great potential for China and Estonia in the field of foreign trade with more cooperation opportunities provided by the efforts to jointly build the Belt and Road, wishing enhanced friendship for the peoples of the two countries.
More than 20 participants from the fields of industry and commerce, business and Estonian Investment Agency attended the event for bilateral exchanges at the office of the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
