BEIJING, May 6 (Xinhua) -- China Import and Export Fair, known as the Canton Fair, concluded on Sunday, showcasing that China is shifting its export advantage from price to quality.
Statistics showed that the fair had received over 190,000 buyers from about 213 countries and regions.
The total export turnover reached 199.524 billion yuan (about 29.73 billion U.S. dollars), down 1.1 percent compared with the spring session last year.
Machinery and electronic products contributed to 16 billion U.S. dollars, while the textile and apparel products contributed to 1.62 billion yuan, accounting for 5.4 percent of the total transaction value.
Xu Bing, spokesman of Canton Fair and deputy director of China Foreign Trade Center, said that enterprises participated in the exhibition have made positive progresses in the aspect of high-quality development and the country is quickening the pace to form its new advantages in international competition.
