BEIJING, May 5 (Xinhua) -- East China's Shandong Province plans to inject 430 million yuan into its civil aviation sector this year, in a bid to boost the infrastructure construction and service capability of its eight civil aviation airports, according to the Shandong Province Fiance Bureau.
According to the Bureau, 319 million yuan will be raised for terminal area extension, purchase and renovation of fixed assets. Some 160 million yuan of the fund will be pumped into the terminal area expansion project of the Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport, which is expected to drive social investment of 1.2 billion yuan.
The project will also help make the annual domestic passenger throughput of the Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport reach 18.8 million by 2022.
Besides, 48 million yuan will be raised to support the operation of small and medium-sized airports each with an annual passenger throughput of less than 2 million.
The province will also help raise 63 million yuan through market-oriented financing to give subsidies to the Yantai Penglai International Airport for its loan. (Edited by Gu Shanshan)
