BEIJING -- Epec.com, the e-commerce platform for industrial products of China Petroleum and Chemical Corp, known as Sinopec and the world's largest refiner by volume, has reached an accumulated transaction amount of $4.6 billion for countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative since its launch in 2017, serving as a bridge that connects trade in industrial products produced in countries and regions.
As many as 125 suppliers and 141 purchasers from the 34 countries and regions involved in the initiative have registered on the platform as of April 18, with total accumulated transaction amount accounting for 26.6 percent of the platform's total transaction, it said at a press release in Beijing on Thursday.
With a broader presence worldwide, many companies globally are showing interest in joining Global Epec to sell or buy industrial products.
Global transaction on its platform reached $17.5 billion so far, with more than 1,200 suppliers and 10,000 buyers from across the world, including the United States, Brazil, Germany, Russia and India, covering various industrial products including raw material, equipment and chemical products.
Epec launched its global website in English on April 18, 2017, followed by the Russian and Spanish versions going online on March 16, 2018.
Total transaction on the platform last year reached 28.62 billion yuan ($4.28 billion), more than the total transaction in the past few years, it said. (Source: China Daily)
