Department of Agricultural Extension Director General Sumran Sarabun told Xinhua that Thailand has planned to demonstrate its flowers, decorative plants, fruits, vegetables and herbs during the exhibition, scheduled to be held from April 29 to Oct. 7.

A Thai House, in the style of those largely seen in central Thailand and surrounded by flower plants, edible vegetable and herbal plants and fruit trees, has been built in the exhibition site to display the Thai horticultural products, the official said.

Besides, there will be rotating exhibitions of Thai fruits, flowers and vegetables, which will be put on display throughout the six-month exhibition.

Exhibitions in the Thai House range from Week One for flower plants and decorative plants, followed by Week Two for durian trees, Week Three for mangosteen trees, Week Four or Thai Week between July 26 and July 30 for an exhibition in honor of King Maha Vajiralongkorn who was born on July 28, Week Five for mango and longan and finally Week Six for orchids and pot plants of flowers.

Six agencies under the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives as well as the Ministry of Commerce will be jointly responsible for the Thai House and the horticultural products.

In particular, the Department of International Trade Promotion will open a QR Code marketing platform for interested parties to deal in such horticultural goods online, Samran told Xinhua.

In addition, the Tourism Authority of Thailand has also planned to promote Thailand's tourist industry and Thai culture with various cultural shows as part of the Thailand Pavilion exhibition.
