BEIJING, April 13 (Xinhua) -- Revenue of China's electronic information manufacturing industry rose 3.3 percent year on year in the first two months of 2019.
The sector registered a 21.7-percent slump in profits in the January-February period, while its fixed asset investment dipped 2.6 percent from a year earlier, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
In breakdown, profits of communications equipment and computer manufacturers surged 55.8 percent and 36.8 percent, respectively, the ministry said.
MIIT data also showed China's mobile phone output weakened in the first two months, with a decline of 12.3 percent year on year.
During the same period, production of laptops dipped 2.2 percent year on year while that of tablet computers jumped 21.6 percent.
