China's marine gross product up 6.7 pct to RMB 8.34 trln in 2018: MNR

Abstract : The total output value of China's marine industry in 2018 was estimated at about 8.34 trillion yuan, up 6.7 percent year on year and accounting for 9.3 percent of China's GDP last year, according to China's Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR).

BEIJING, April 12 (Xinhua) -- The gross product  of China's marine industry in 2018 was estimated at about 8.34 trillion yuan, up 6.7 percent year on year and accounting for 9.3 percent of China's GDP last year, according to a statistical communique on the country's marine economy in 2018 released by China's Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) on Thursday.

Specifically, the added value of China's marine primary, secondary and tertiary sectors in 2018 stood at about 364 billion yuan, 3.09 trillion yuan, and 4.89 trillion yuan respectively, taking up 4.4 percent, 37.0 percent and 58.6 percent of the total marine production value last year.

In general, China's marine economy kept rising steadily in 2018 with industrial structure improved and emerging industry and new business pattern growing fast. (Edited by Su Dan)
