BEIJING, April 12 (Xinhua) -- The first meeting of international cooperation and coordination working group on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor was held in Beijing on Tuesday.
The meeting was co-chaired by Kong Xuanyou, Vice Foreign Minister of China, and Tehmina Janjua, Foreign Secretary of Pakistan.
Both sides believed that, the construction on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor has achieved fruitful results in more than five years, become a landmark project of pragmatic cooperation between China and Pakistan and a highlight of the international cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
Meanwhile, the construction of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is moving towards high-quality development and facing new tasks and challenges.
Both sides agreed to carry out corridor construction cooperation with third parties on the basis of consensus and full argumentation.
Besides, both sides will encourage the cooperation in think tanks, media and cultural organizations, providing intellectual support for corridor construction, building bridges between the government and the public, and creating good social environment. (Edited by Tong Wei, tongwei@xinhua.org)
