BEIJING, April 12 (Xinhua) -- More Western countries are willing to embrace the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) after Italy’s participation in the BRI.
On March 27th, Luxembourg and China signed a memorandum of understanding under the framework of BRI, another European country after Italy joining BRI.
Malta, a member of the European Union (EU), is also likely to join the BRI, according to the webiste of American Consumer and Business Channel.
Fruitful achievements of the Belt and Road construction in the past six years have changed western attitudes a lot towards the BRI.
Besides, the EU cannot give up Chinese investment. Western countries, such as Italy, France and Germany, are keen to accept Chinese investment, noted a Russian newspaper. (Edited by Bao Nuomin, Yang Yifan, baonuomin@xinhua.org, yangyifan@xinhua.org)
