BEIJING, April 8 (Xinhua) -- China has conducted the first-ever live broadcast of cardiac intervention operation via 5G network to medical staff who attended the international cardiology conference held last Friday in Lahore, Pakistan, a country along the Belt and Road (B&R) routes.
The operation was carried out in Qingdao Fuwai Cardiovascular Hospital in east China's Shandong province.
The live broadcast aimed to promote the in-depth academic exchanges between China and Pakistan, and help Pakistani medical personnel better understand and learn about China's advanced medical technology.
Doctors who watched the live broadcast said that they hoped there would be more such opportunities for them to participate in exchanges and communications with China.
As China's medical technologies become more mature, Chinese medical staff hope to bring benefits to more patients in B&R countries, said professor Wu Yongjian, head of the team for the operation. (Edited by Su Dan)
