BEIJING, April 1 (Xinhua) -- East China's Shandong province saw its trade with countries along the Belt and Road (B&R) routes stand at 79.62 billion yuan in the first two months of 2019, a year on year increase of 6.2 percent, statistics from Jinan Customs showed.
Specifically, Shandong's exports to these countries were 43.83 billion yuan, up 6.9 percent year on year, while imports from these countries totaled 35.79 billion yuan, an increase of 5.3 percent year on year.
In terms of trade commodities, Shandong exported 14.91 billion yuan worth of mechanical and electrical products to B&R countries in the first two months, accounting for 34 percent of Shandong's export value to B&R countries, and it imported 14.45 billion yuan worth of crude oil from these countries, contributing 45.2 percent to its total value of imports from B&R countries.
