April 01, 2019

Abstract : China's leading machinery equipment maker Sany Group has partnered with telecommunications company ZTE to boost the development of intelligent manufacturing using 5G technologies.

SHENZHEN, March 31 (Xinhua) -- China's leading machinery equipment maker Sany Group has partnered with telecommunications company ZTE to boost the development of intelligent manufacturing using 5G technologies.

The two companies will pilot the use of 5G in Sany's industrial parks in Beijing and Changsha, central China's Hunan Province, according to an agreement signed by the two companies on Sunday.

The use of 5G will later be expanded to Sany's other industrial parks.

Liang Wengen, chairman of the Sany Group, said 5G technologies and ZTE's strength in software R&D would help make Sany's manufacturing system more intelligent, and the cooperation would promote the upgrading of China's manufacturing industry.

ZTE chairman Li Zixue said ZTE is strong in 5G end-to-end solutions and the cooperation would facilitate the upgrading of intelligent manufacturing and speed up digitalized transformation.

The companies will also team up to explore the use of other advanced technologies including edge computing and artificial intelligence (AI) in industrial Internet and vehicle networking, according to the cooperation agreement.
