BEIJING, March 29 (Xinhua) -- China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC),China's largest offshore oil producer, recently handed over 1 million yuan to Hainan Women’s Federation, the third donation made by its charity fund arm under the project of “sailing together-giving a hand for urgent need”.
Initiated in July, 2016, the project aims to relieve the suffering of women, children and families in Wuzhishan city and Baoting Li and Miao Autonomous County in south China’s Hainan Province due to serious diseases, accidents as well as hardships caused by accidental injuries.
Fully utilized, the previously donated 2 million yuan special fund has benefited 238 women and children in poverty, who, under the circumstances of urgent needs for medical care or education, could receive further help from the project for weathering through special difficulties.
It is noted that the project is carried out by Hainan Chengmei Charity Foundation and supervised by Hainan Women’s Federation. (Edited by Niu Huizhe, niuhuizhe@xinhua.org)
