BEIJING, March 25 (Xinhua) --- The margin trade balance of Exchange Trade Funds (ETF) on Shanghai Stock Exchange and Shenzhen Stock Exchange increased by 1.658 billion yuan from the previous week to 70.972 billion yuan last week ended March 21, registering an increase for five consecutive weeks, reported the Xinhua-run China Securities Journal reported on March 25.
According to the report, this is the first time that ETF margin trade balance hit 70 billion yuan this year.
Meanwhile, the balance of short selling on the two bourses reached 851 million units, up 47 million units from a week earlier.
