LUANDA, March 21 (Xinhua) -- Construction work on a middle school in Kuito city, capital of central Angola's Bie province has begun, the constructor China Railway 20 Bureau Group Corporation said on Thursday.
The school will cover an area of 1,769.5 square meters, and its construction is expected to be completed by 2020, according to the company.
Zhu Qihui, chairman of China Railway 20 Bureau Group International Angola, said during the cornerstone laying ceremony that the company is fully aware of the responsibility for building such a middle school in Angola, a country that highly values education.
"We will guarantee the efficiency and quality of the construction, and offer a good learning environment to all the students as soon as possible," said Zhu.
Pereira Alfredo, governor of Bie province, expressed his confidence in the company, saying he is looking forward to a satisfying project.
The governor said the government will be committed to improving infrastructure and local people's living conditions.
