BEIJING, March 19 (Xinhua) --- China's trade with Central Asia countries and Russia via Horgos port in Xinjiang amounted to 35.742 million tons in 2018 and the trade value hit 135.2 billion yuan, according to the report of Xinjiang Satellite TV.
China-Kazakhstan Horgos International Border Cooperation Center is the world's first cross-border free-trade zone and the biggest duty-free shopping center in western China. It allows entry of citizens from any country with valid passports or with exit and entry permits. Averagely, about 15,000 people enter and leave the zone every day.
The center has brought together goods from all over the world. Nearly 30 key projects have settled down and more than 5,000 merchants have taken root in the zone.
In 2019, focusing on the construction of core area of Silk Road Economic Belt, Horgos will further insist on “going global” and strive to build a community with a shared future for mankind.
