BEIJING, March 19 (Xinhua) – China will promote the diversified development of olefin raw materials, the Xinhua-run Economic Information Daily reported on Monday.
According to the report, China’s authorities have requested a 20 percent diversification rate of olefin raw materials in a bid to alleviate the shortage of olefin raw materials,
China's ethylene industry has grown rapidly in recent years, making it the second largest ethylene producer in the world after the United States. China saw ethylene production capacity increase from 20.43 million metric tons (tonnes) per year to 25.02 million tonnes per year between 2014 and 2018, with an average compound annual growth rate of nearly 5.20 percent.
